Kristen Scatton
A secretary extraordinaire by day and aspiring playwright by night, Kristen M. Scatton earned her BA in Professional Writing from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania in 2007. She started her career as a beat reporter with the Pottsville (PA) Republican and Herald newspaper, before becoming the first web news editor for the Republican and Herald's web site. As web news editor, she updated all breaking news on the site, developed her affinity for blogging, and starred in a weekly web video series, "Sidewalk Talk."
Since escaping the Pennsylvania suburbs for the bright lights of Philadelphia, Scatton has focused on creative writing, continuing her studies at The University of the Arts and Rosemont College. She has been published in The Cynic Online Magazine, and has had staged readings of her plays produced by the Painted Bride Art Center and Philly's Primary Stages. In her spare time, she ruminates on the idiosyncrasies of love, dating and relationships in the 21st century in her blog, Miss Right Now. She enjoys reading, photography, dogs and the Boston Red Sox.
